Public Hearing on the Regional Transportation Plan:
March 23 at 6:00 pm
at Houston Galveston Area Council
3555 Timmons Lane, Room A, 2nd Floor
On March 23, the Houston Galveston Area Council will hold a public hearing on the Regional
Transportation Plan (RTP).
The RTP is an important regional plan that addresses
two of the Citizens' Congress' top priorities: improving mobility and
air quality. Once approved, the RTP will be a list of all the federally funded
transportation projects in the region for the next twenty years. These
projects address traffic congestion, new road construction and maintenance,
mass transit, airport and port expansion, park and ride lots, etc. Thus,
the RTP will establish a blueprint for an important part of
Houston's future.
For more information go to www.2025plan.org
where you can find a copy of the plan. The public is invited to comment
via a public comment card on the web site or by speaking at the public
hearing. The Transportation Policy Council is expected to approve the RTP
at its April 23rd meeting.
