Goal and Action 12: Appreciating diversity

Houston promotes, embraces and increases appreciation of diversity especially race, ethnicity, language, gender, sexual preference, religion and socio-economic status. (3.8)

Actions Proposed by Participants

• Hold town hall meetings within ethnic neighborhoods and then across neighborhoods so that all ethnic groups can express their concerns and suggest possible solutions.
• Promote and support legislation to demonstrate that the rich diversity of Houston is welcomed and valued.
